And ive embellished it all over with gorgeousness. The main fabric is a lovely stretch bengaline with embossed roses. A perfect way to start. The skirt is a basic a-line shape with a diagonal panels and a zipper detail from the hemline. And ive appliqued over the top. Laces, patches of vintage linens, a gorgeous silk ribbon fabric, vintage floral upholstery patch. Cottons and scraps of rescued laces in beautiful pink tones. Satin ribbon roses, rose buttons. And ive added scraps and bits and pieces of gorgeous vintage doilies and crochet pieces. Ive added one huge doily to the back, which ive hand dyed a dark pinky mauve colour and decorated with vintage buttons and satin ribbon roses and rose buds. And woven it with pretty dusky rose seam binding ribbon. There are a lot of lovely details and the hemline is decorated with ruched rose mesh and pretty scalloped cream and pink laces. Layer it with one of my vintage kitty tunics or shirt jackets. Id say this funky skirt is about a size large, it has a fixed waist size and a back zipper. The waist band is not stretchy. Below that tho, the panels and the rest of the skirt are stretch fabric, nice and stretchy actually, very comfy to wear. Measured laid flat, with the zipper done up. Across the front at waist about 19 inches (48cm)at hip approx 21 inches across (53.5cm). Waist to hem length approx 37 inches (94cm) including mesh i find a good way to check if it will fit , is to compare the measurements to something else you already own , by measuring the item unstretched and laying flat. Thats much easier than trying to measure ourselves and getting it right.
Hand wash in cold and lay flat to dry or on a wide hanger. This garment is vintage and has vintage components. Imperfections, tiny marks or repairs, if any are part of the charm of wearing beautiful re-created garments.
Please know that i would not offer anything that i wouldnt wear myself.
